JLib & Nandeez are back with an interview they are really excited to share. Simon Goland is an educator, consultant, executive & organizational coach, mentor, and more. He is the founder of Simon Says Consulting and of the Right Livelihood Quest, designed to help people uncover their life's purpose. Simon discusses his journey to the career he is in now, and his interest and passion around purpose and meaning. Among the other topics you'll hear are how Simon helps people answer questions like "Why am I here?" and "What has my life been preparing me for?", as well as the importance of connecting to nature, the difference between "form" and "essence", and what is a "whole body yes."

In this episode JLib and Nandeez explain the origin of the name JV Superstars: how it came about and what it means to the hosts. In the process, we dove into some details about our past, namely our relationship with basketball and how it shaped who we are as individuals and as friends. Also, the impact it had when our basketball "careers" ended, which we imagine a lot of people can relate to (unless of course you're currently in the NBA, in which case hit us up!)

For a little bit of fun at the end of the episode we also tacked on our pun-centric brainstorming session for potential podcast names that ended up on the cutting-room floor.

JV Superstars (JLib and Nandeez) are excited to attend the TEDxSoMa event in San Francisco on January 15th. In this brief episode the guys preview the event and some of its topics (masculinity, religion, language, mindfulness, facts vs truth etc) and discuss their efforts to get involved with the event and potentially interview some of the speakers. Also, a couple other upcoming podcast topic ideas are teased.

JLib and Nandeez are back, talking about the big events that have happened recently in their lives (actually mostly Jon's). Namely, Jon and his wife Leah's pregnancy and the loss of their baby at 10.5 weeks. Jon explores all the ways in which that loss affected him and the different challenges it created. The guys also discuss the societal convention of not talking about a pregnancy until the second trimester, why that custom exists, and Jon's firsthand experience with how he and his wife handled talking about the pregnancy and talking about the miscarriage.

JLib and Nandeez are back with episode five of JV Superstars. This episode was inspired by New Year's Eve and focuses mainly on Jon's sobriety. The guys talked about the challenge of finding places to go out when you don't want to drink, and also a little about Jon's journey to sobriety, with some stories from back in the day that it's okay to laugh at once you've got seven years under your belt. Plus, a podcast debut for Nando's wife Viki (kinda).

JLib and Nandeez are back with episode four of JV Superstars. This episode is (hopefully) a little more focused on a few main topics. Jon is fed up with the prescriptive nature of our society's view on masculinity, and Nando is working through negotiating his salary at his new job and how to talk about money with friends (without it being awkward). We also learned that Nandeez makes his own deodorant. So probably don't hug him next time you see him. You've been warned.
